What is NerdSquad?
NerdSquad Managed IT Services is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Naples, Florida, that runs IT, cybersecurity and help desk support for businesses in Southwest Florida and across the United States. Clients get one team that monitors and protects every device, answers when staff need help, handles technology vendors and plans upgrades around how the business actually runs.
Our clients range from small professional offices to growing companies with several locations. Many work under rules like SEC and FINRA requirements, GLBA, HIPAA or PCI DSS, so security and documentation are built into how we work, not bolted on later.
Not sure you’re big enough, or regulated enough, to need us? Call anyway. We’ll talk to any business, and if we’re not the right fit we’ll say so and point you somewhere better.

02 · Our story
Built on one question: “Can you stick around?”
NerdSquad started as a consulting practice, not a help desk.
Our founders have decades of experience helping businesses with their technology needs, from everyday support to complex projects for growing companies in heavily regulated industries. Along the way they learned that good IT is less about gadgets and more about understanding how a business actually runs.
Every time a project wrapped up, clients asked the same thing: can you stick around? They didn’t want a one-and-done fix. They wanted the same people who understood their business to keep running their technology. So we built a managed IT company around that request: senior-level thinking, delivered every day, without the corporate red tape.

03 · How we work
Five things we won’t compromise on
Plenty of IT companies can fix a laptop. What clients tell us they value is how we behave when there’s money, risk or a vendor on the other side of the table.
01
Honest advice, even when it costs us a sale
If you don’t need it, we’ll say so. If we can’t help, we’ll say that too, before you sign anything. Recommendations come with the reason, the cost and the alternative.
02
Your advocate with every vendor
Internet providers, line-of-business software, phone carriers, copier leases. We deal with them for you, push for your interests rather than theirs, and tell you plainly when a contract or upgrade isn’t worth it.
03
Responsive, local support
A real person picks up, backed by an industry-leading SLA. Most issues are fixed remotely because that’s fastest for you; when they aren’t, a technician from our Naples office comes onsite.
04
Cybersecurity first, by design
Security shapes every recommendation we make. We start every new client with a security review, and nothing new gets added to your network without asking what it does to your risk.
05
Business first, technology second
We learn how you make money, who does what and where the bottlenecks are, then plan technology around it. Regular business reviews keep your IT budget and roadmap tied to where the company is headed.
The NerdSquad promise
We guarantee to add value. If we can’t, we’ll tell you.
Before you sign, we review your current setup and tell you plainly what we’d change and why. If we can’t make a real difference, we’ll say so.
04 · Working with us
What working with NerdSquad looks like
No mystery and no 40-page contract on the first call. Here’s the usual path from a first conversation to steady, boring, working technology.
Step 1
A real conversation
You tell us what’s working, what isn’t and what keeps you up at night. We ask about your business, not just your computers.
Step 2
A look at your setup
We review your devices, network, accounts, backups and security, onsite or remotely, and tell you honestly what we find.
Step 3
A written proposal
You get a plan in writing that spells out what’s included, what isn’t and what it costs. No pressure, no surprise line items later.
Step 4
The first 30 days
Onboarding: we document everything, put the security baseline in place, set up monitoring and coordinate the handoff from your previous IT.
Step 5
Everyday support
Your staff call or open a ticket and reach a team that already knows your setup. Monitoring, patching and backups run in the background.
Step 6
Regular business reviews
We sit down with you periodically to review what happened, what’s coming and where your technology budget should go next.
Start with step one
Tell us what’s going on with your technology. We’ll tell you honestly whether we can help.
05 · Cybersecurity first
Security is the starting point, not an upsell
Most breaches at small businesses don’t start with a genius hacker. They start with a reused password, a missed update or a convincing email. So before we talk about anything fancy, we make sure the basics are done properly:
Multi-factor authentication (MFA) on email and every account that supports it
Endpoint detection and response (EDR) on every computer and server
Operating system and application patching on a schedule, not “when someone remembers”
Email filtering that catches phishing, spoofing and fake invoices
Backups that are tested, so recovery is a plan instead of a hope
Documented admin access, with former employees removed on their last day
Devices monitored 24/7 for health and security alerts
Security awareness training and phishing tests, so staff can spot a scam
No IT company can promise you’ll never be targeted, and we won’t pretend otherwise. What we can do is make you a much harder target, keep the evidence your auditors and insurers ask for, and have a recovery plan ready before you need it.
How our cybersecurity works →06 · Who we work with
Built for businesses that answer to someone
Regulators, auditors, insurers, clients who trust you with their money or their health. If someone checks your work, your IT has to hold up. Here are the industries we know best, and what usually matters most to each.
Financial services
Investment advisers, wealth managers and other financial firms: email archiving, access controls and the evidence examiners ask for under SEC, FINRA and GLBA expectations.
Law firms
Client confidentiality, document and practice management systems, and secure access for attorneys working from court, home or the road.
Medical and dental
HIPAA safeguards for patient data, practice and imaging software that has to work at 8 a.m., and vendors who all blame each other.
Real estate
Agents on the move, wire-fraud email scams and transaction files that can’t go missing.
Construction
Office and job-site connectivity, project and estimating software, and devices that live in trucks.
Manufacturing
Keeping the office network and the plant floor apart, protecting older equipment and meeting customer security requirements.
Retail
Point-of-sale uptime, payment-card security under PCI DSS, guest Wi-Fi and cameras.
Logistics and distribution
Warehouse Wi-Fi, scanners and shipping systems, and the integrations between them.
Why people usually call us
Their IT person left, and took the passwords and the know-how with them.
A security scare: a hacked mailbox, a fake invoice that almost got paid, a locked file.
The business is growing faster than its technology.
Their current provider stopped calling back.

08 · Where we work
Based in Naples. Serving Southwest Florida and businesses nationwide.
Our only office is in Naples, Florida. Most of what we do is delivered remotely, so location isn’t a limit: we support businesses across Southwest Florida in person and clients across the country online.
Nationwide, we deliver the services that don’t need a truck: managed IT and help desk, cybersecurity and managed EDR, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, backup and recovery, compliance support and AI implementation. Monitoring, patching and support work the same whether you’re in Fort Myers or Phoenix. In Southwest Florida we add onsite visits when something needs hands on hardware, like a network install, a new office, a failed device or a server.
Working in Southwest Florida also means planning for hurricane season, summer lightning and the occasional internet outage. Backups, remote access and power protection are part of how we set clients up, so there’s a plan in place before the forecast turns.

What we won’t do
A few things people are often surprised to hear from an IT company.
Sell you something you don’t need
If the five-year-old server still does its job, we’ll tell you. Every recommendation comes with the reason and the alternatives.
Hold your systems hostage
Your documentation, admin accounts and records belong to you. If you ever move on, we hand everything over in an orderly way.
Claim to make you “compliant”
We put the controls in place and help you prove it. Certifying compliance is the job of your auditor or examiner, and we’ll work alongside them.
Quote a price sight unseen
Every office is different. We look first, then put a written proposal in front of you that spells out what’s included and what isn’t.
Pretend to be a national chain
We’re an independent IT company with one office, in Naples, serving clients here and across the country. The people who answer know your business.
Bury you in jargon
You’ll get plain-English answers. If we use an acronym, we’ll explain it, and there’s a whole IT dictionary in our knowledge base.

We’ll review how your office runs today and tell you plainly what we’d change, and what we’d leave alone.
